To enable the works on the A59 a traffic management system had to be put in place on both directions complete with a speed restriction of 40mph. The scheme included lane closures, contra-flows, full closure and diversions.

The works also included:

• Concrete repairs to existing bridge structure
• Testing the existing concrete structure
• Hydro-demolition of existing concrete
• Application of new concrete finishes
• Application of surface finishes for lasting protection of the whole structure
• Traffic management to facilitate a safe working environment
