These works were the construction of a hydroelectric scheme including intake structure with penstock. The project included in-river wier and intake structure, turbine powerhouse with associated cabling and connection to existing grid. In addition some 1100m of 600mm diameter pipeline was laid across two most inhospitable of terrain including wet lands, forests and rock outcrops.

The site was entirely within the Lake District National Park and as such, additional environmental and ecological restrictions were in place. Despite the works being carried out through the winter months, Askam successfully delivered the project on time.
