John Lowery formed his company, Askam Construction Limited, in 1986, in order to fulfill his first civil engineering project. Since then, the company has grown and changed considerably, now employing 86 full-time employees and managing major projects for clients such as The Environment Agency, British Waterways and numerous projects for The Bay Trust and Lancashire County Council.
The company now offers a broad work-base. Having initially build an enviable reputation as a civil engineering contractor, they have grown and expanded their services to include industrial and commercial buildings, refurbishment works, design and build in the health, education and leisure sectors.
The company prides itself on its dedication to training and developing their employees. We were the first construction company in the North West to achieve the Investors In People status and actively encourage all of their staff to reach their full potential through ongoing training and education.
We use an in-house quality management system which is constantly monitored and improved, and are also working towards creating a paperless administrative system and improving our performance in the use of energy.
