Askam Construction Ltd is in a unique position within the industry in that we operate our own Plant Hire department. The Askam Workshop is situated within Oakenclough, approximately a 10 minutes drive from our head office outside of Lancaster.
The Workshop is 30,000 square foot in size, a quarter of which made up of various individual workshops with a mezzanine floor above used for storage. These individual workshops include a vehicle repair bay, a welding and fabricating bay, a tool workshop and plant stores. Outside is an extensive yard for storage of vehicles and cabins, plus excess temporary works materials.
Plant equipment found at our workshop can range from the largest of construction based vehicles to the smallest of hand tools.
The team that run the workshop are managed by Jim Warwick, who is renowned for his extensive knowledge of plant and construction machinery. It is a tighly run ship and a hive of activity servicing all of Askam Construction Ltd's sites throughout the country and ensuring our van fleet is up to scratch on a day to day basis.
