Askam Construction was founded on water based civil engineering projects. As time went on the work broadened to the diversity we enjoy today.
Clients include United Utilities (North West Water), British Waterways and The Environment Agency. Our specialism is work on Service Reservoirs, few companies will tackle this kind of work which demands a very high control or work methods to avoid contamination of the drinking water which is fed direct into the domestic system. Askam has carried out many such projects and at one time was in a framework agreement with United Utilities for work on Service Reservoirs through out the North West.

- Project - Replacement of the existing waterproof roof membranes over the contact tanks with a new intelligent membrane

- Project - Various redevelopment works to the dam to provide improved flood defenses and wave protection by increasing its flood capacity. The existing timber door to the drawoff tower was replaced by a watertight steel door and frame

- Project - Continuation of a flood defence scheme at various locations along the river. Included were construction of a new few fish pass, new and extended flood walls, various bridge redevelopments, drainage and landscaping works
